Stove forms in Coyolate now filled with cement. The forms are thoroughly cleaned and then oiled, and the rebar supports are fitted into each form. From there the cement is poured into each form. After setting overnight the stoves are removed from the forms.
Before the cement is poured, we make the cement support out of rebar and chicken wire. These “baskets” are put together with baling wire with a lot of twisting going on. As each basket is completed we refitted to ensure they will fit inside the stove form. Making the baskets wasn’t easy or simple, well maybe simple but definitely not easy. After we spent hours making the baskets, we finally figured out how to make it easier for us.
